"We realize very well that we have an important role to play in making our products more sustainable and in helping VGOs, painters and clients build sustainably," explains Erik Zuurmond, Prof marketing manager for Sikkens and Polyfilla PRO. "Together, we are creating a positive impact on our society with a low carbon footprint. By providing long-term protection with our high-quality products, giving back to society and always having health on our sights," says Erik. This is why Sikkens and Polyfilla PRO have defined six sustainability goals so that all activities contribute to future-proof building and renovation.

The Polyfilla PRO Plus Frame contributes to CO2 reduction
An example of a sustainable initiative is the Polyfilla PRO Plus Frame, a collaboration between Sikkens and Polyfilla PRO. The Plus Frame offers sustainable and economical maintenance for wooden window frames by replacing only the affected parts with Polyfilla PRO Durodeen. This reduces CO2 emissions, consumes less energy and raw materials and extends the life of the window frame by up to 30 years.

In addition, Sikkens has also developed a sustainable interior wall paint, the Alpha Recycle Mat, which incorporates 35% recycled paint. The production process takes place in cooperation with InterCheM. Paint remnants are carefully sorted, filtered and reprocessed with new paint, giving them a second life and a positive impact on the environment.

A sustainable future
"The BouwBeurs 2025 is the ideal place to talk to clients and painters about the latest developments in paint and sustainability in construction," says Erik. Discover at the BouwBeurs 2025 how you can build a sustainable future together with Sikkens and Polyfilla PRO.

You will find them in hall 7, booth C026
