For the most current trends and developments in the construction industry, BouwBeurs 2023 provides the stage. From Monday, February 6 to Friday, February 10, hundreds of exhibitors will show their innovations. In addition, there are numerous theme pavilions on sustainable building, robotization or materials such as wood and glass. Who wants to get up to date again after four years, comes to BouwBeurs 2023 in Royal Jaarbeurs Utrecht.

Current themes and inspiring itineraries

Circular construction, bio-based or nature-inclusive construction, building with wood, sustainability, the energy transition, gas-free construction, digitization and robotization. An impressive list of topics and themes that will all be covered at the upcoming BouwBeurs . In addition to special sustainability and innovation routes, an extensive knowledge program has been rigged around the exhibition floor. Special squares and streets focus on current themes: think of a career square, a start-up street, or pavilions on nature-inclusive building and materials such as wood, glass and tiles.

Newcomers to the show floor

Among the hundreds of exhibitors that BouwBeurs welcomes to the Utrecht Jaarbeurs every two years, there are always special newcomers. We spoke to a few and asked them about their plans and expectations.

The Variable has grown into a leading company from a partnership of family-owned real estate maintenance and preservation companies. With the company motto 'Earlier Further', the company shows that innovation is of paramount importance. At BouwBeurs, De Variabele will highlight some of those innovations," explains Ludwig Smits, process owner Innovation & Relationship at De Variabele. "HoekPlus Wonen, for example. There is a great need for affordable rental housing but many corporations cannot financially justify filling it with new construction. This concept, developed by us, converts the corner house of a block of housing into three full-fledged homes, each with its own front door. The expansion and conversion of the corner house creates two full-fledged dwellings on the first floor and one dwelling on the first floor plus attic. By maximizing the land area at the homes, square footage is added in a cost-friendly manner. A housing corporation thus generates more revenue from the corner houses.
Smits also expects The Variable to focus attention on a self-developed serious game on the exhibition floor: Vastgoed Levensweg. "That is a serious game that makes property management even more efficient."

Bouwkundig Adviesbureau Zwolle (BAZ) is introducing its new services at BouwBeurs. "Both in the area of software, training and additional services towards developers we are going to take steps," explains BAZ's BIM modeler Joris Noordhof. "From our years of experience in the market we have noticed that there is a great need to train (young) professionals to become full-fledged calculators, we are going to do that with a special practice-oriented learning line in the field of construction costs."
With the new software, BAZ is targeting a growing group of BIM modelers. "Of course we have already subjected our new services to extensive market validation, but we want to see during BouwBeurs whether we are indeed getting the appreciation we expect. We hope for a large new audience for our services and service. And of course on additional feedback. For us, then, the fair will be successful if we reach a new audience and get feedback on what we will do from a slightly different angle."
