Ko Melchers, commercial advisor, is happy to explain why Fetim is part of the Innovation Route at BouwBeurs 2023. 'Just take our new concept ModiWood Flame Retardant, which is a great advance for construction. It has Fire Class B and that is increasingly prescribed.'

Biocomposite

Fetim Group, distributor of building materials including cladding, is also showing its new biocomposite made from agricultural residues to the public for the first time at the Construction Fair. 'We are very proud of that. Our focus is on making safe and sustainable products, with an eye for the environment. We strive for a good balance between our business, our community and our planet. It is up to us to leave a legacy worthy of future generations. Building materials made from biocomposite is, as far as we are concerned, a very nice way to achieve that. We notice that visitors are very interested in this new environmentally friendly building material. The requests for samples are pouring in.'

Specific features

On display in the booth are facade assemblies from the ModiWood, Protex, Ki-Kern and UniPrime brands. 'Depending on the application, one chooses the material,' says Ko. 'Structural requirements may play a role in this, but factors such as durability, maintenance or fire safety are also influential, as is appearance. So it is important to have different products, each with its own specific properties. For example, our ModiWood Flame Retardant concept is very suitable for application in densely populated urban areas. Its use will make it easier to obtain building permits in such an environment.'
