It's not a question of if, but how you're going to digitize in construction

The construction industry is facing an aging population, a shortage of skilled workers and a growing construction task. Digitalization helps overcome these obstacles and work more efficiently. "Digitizing is no longer a choice, but a necessity," says Herwin Kampjes, co-founder of BimBuildings and ScanPlan. "The question is not whether you digitize, but which tools you choose."

Efficiency with BIM
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is being embraced more and more, but many construction companies are still searching for its optimal deployment. "A good development, but we find that many people don't know where to start or how to deploy BIM optimally," said Kampjes. "As a BIM specialist, we can take over some or all of the work while guiding contractors in integrating BIM into their processes." The benefits of this are obvious, according to Kampjes: "Better communication, fewer errors, faster work preparation, and by using 3D scans with 360-degree photos, the model matches the situation exactly."

Automating with AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) also offers new opportunities. Raymon Paarhuis, co-founder of BimBuildings and ScanPlan, works with his team on customized AI solutions for contractors and planners. "AI does not lay the pipes itself, but in combination with Generative Design, for example, it can generate floor heating drawings from a PDF at lightning speed, with the correct pipe length and grouping. Wherever logic and geometry are involved, we can automate. This is a gamechanger for building smarter and faster."
