The construction industry is already well acquainted with the AutoCAD design tool, but Autodesk would like to bring a little more attention to the Autodesk Construction Cloud.
'With Autodesk Construction Cloud, we integrate the workflows of design teams, supporting all construction processes within a project from A to Z.' Speaking is Dennis Marchena, Business Development Representative for the Benelux. He explains: 'We make the connection - especially in terms of communication - between the design team and all other teams and other companies involved. This includes issue management and approval workflows. We work from 2D and 3D models and can show what a situation actually looks like from a bird's-eye view, for example. This can be seen by everyone in the cloud environment in the same way, in real time. This tool saves a lot of time and makes communication easy and efficient. That saves in any rework and failure costs.'
Job in construction
The Construction Cloud tool was recently developed, so this is the first time Autodesk is exhibiting at the BouwBeurs on its behalf. Dennis and his colleagues speak to interested parties, looking amused at all the schoolchildren walking by with construction buckets - often already full of pens, notepads, tape measures and other freebies. 'It would be nice if a large proportion of these boys and girls choose construction jobs. Either in construction or in the office. And then, of course, with our tools,' Dennis says with a laugh.
