Crane machinist and construction influencer Jessica Bruintjes organized the first Ladies Drinks on Friday, March 31. This took place in the cozy brown café of RKB Crane Rental, the family business where Jessica works. The first Ladies Lunch was organized during BouwBeurs 2023. A great success, which inspired Jessica to continue this.
The get-together was attended by construction women from all over the Netherlands. Steelworkers, installers, managers, planners and marketers shared their experiences and knowledge in daily life as a professional woman. One of the participants even came by truck from the east of the country. Several others booked a hotel stay nearby. All this to get in touch with other professional women. Several participants reported having few or no female colleagues. Even girlfriends often choose a different kind of profession. So it is just nice to get to know other women working in construction, to share knowledge and experience.
Jessica plans to continue such moments to encourage other women to also choose a profession in construction.
