New smart air conditioner from LG saves you energy

LG Electronics is introducing a new air conditioner, the DUALCOOL Premium & Deluxe. The unit was designed specifically for the European market after extensive research, according to LG. The models are available with power ratings from 2.5 to 6.6 kW and can be combined with both Single and Multi Split outdoor units.

The DUALCOOL air conditioning system integrates a dual discharge system and when Soft Air mode is engaged, the lower discharge system closes ruler. This quickly provides optimal temperature control and a soft, indirect airflow without creating a chilly feeling, LG said. Using the DUAL Vane system, the air conditioner directs warm or cool air in different directions for quick and effective temperature control. The two independent vanes help increase airflow to as much as 22 meters: a 22 percent increase over previous models.

Smart features

The DUALCOOL Premium uses LG's Human Detection Sensor, which detects the distance between the air conditioner and those present in the room and, as a result, adjusts the airflow mode (direct or indirect). Users can adjust the sensor settings so that the air conditioner - depending on its proximity to the indoor unit - produces direct, indirect or strong airflow.

The DUALCOOL air conditioner is equipped with the Dual Inverter Heat Pump Compressor and smart energy management features that help reduce the cost of indoor air conditioning. The new model has an A+++ European Energy-Related Product (ErP) rating and offers maximum energy efficiency year-round with a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 9.5 in cooling and a SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) of 5.1 in heating. Users can save energy by setting their personal goal for electricity consumption using the kW Manager™. In addition, energy consumption can be monitored in real time with the ThinQ™ app and users are alerted if the target is exceeded.

Another way to save energy with the DUALCOOL Premium, is the Human Detecting Sensor, which automatically puts the air conditioner into energy-saving mode when no one is in the room. In addition, window opening detection can prevent energy waste by activating the energy-saving mode when the temperature suddenly rises or falls. The Auto Cleaning function automatically dries the inside of the air conditioner. This further benefits hygiene by removing moisture, thereby preventing mold. The Freeze Cleaning functionality defrosts the heat exchanger during colder periods of the year to keep the air conditioner clean and wash away bacteria, dust, dirt and odor-causing contaminants
