Defense is growing again, as evidenced by the new procurement planning of the National Property Company. That really needs to step up a gear to facilitate that growth.
In the first half of 2026, a total of one billion euros in new procurement is at stake, a fair chunk of which is for defense. Guard buildings, education and training buildings, measurement facilities, workshops, it all needs to be built from the ground up.
Ambitions
With those tenders, the National Property Company is also releasing its ambitions for circular construction, zero-emission construction and nature inclusive working. By 2030, all procurement must be circular, for which three ambition levels have been defined. The basic level, the plus level and the leader level. This is also the basis of, for example, the PoR Circular Installations, a new version of which was recently published.
